Expanded Learning Program Named Recipient of Valero Benefit for Children Grant
The Valero Benefit for Children Awards Grant to Expanded Learning Program
VALLEJO, Calif. - The Valero Benefit for Children recently awarded a $36,800 grant to the Expanded Learning Program. The funds are designated for two initiatives at Vallejo Charter School: a STEM-focused project in collaboration with Brickspace and creating a Youth Art Magazine alongside the Vallejo Teaching Artists organization. The grant is expected to serve more than 70 students at Vallejo Charter School.
"The Expanded Learning team is so pleased to be the recipient of this award," Expanded Learning Program Coordinator Carol Lewis said. "We are grateful for Valero Benefit for Children for this opportunity to fund high-quality programming for our students at Vallejo Charter School."
This grant stems from the annual Valero Texas Open and Valero Benefit for Children, a charitable fundraiser by the Valero Energy Foundation specifically geared towards aiding children in need. Proceeds from this event go to children's charities in areas where Valero operates, establishing a robust network of well-supported agencies capable of assisting numerous disadvantaged children. Through the generous contributions of business partners and sponsors, the Valero Benefit for Children proudly aids hundreds of agencies dedicated to making a lasting positive impact on children's lives.
